This isn’t going to be an in-depth look at the various methods, just something that can help you get started, especially if you’re not particularly advanced in this area.

With that said, continue reading for those much desired tips.

1. Yahoo! Answers

Yahoo! Search is definitely not what it used to be, but despite that, they still pretty much dominate in the area of Questions and Answers. On this platform, you can find thousands of different questions on every industry and niche that you can think of. A quick search on any topic is bound to bring up thousands of queries.

The most important ingredient when attempting to drive massive amounts of traffic from this platform to your website, is to be genuine. You don’t want your answers to look like blatant plugs or advertisements for your website. You want to establish your website as an authority in the industry.

Using this method alone, you can expect to bring in 100s of visitors to your content. Whenever end users search for answers on particular questions, Yahoo! Answers has a knack for showing at the top of the search query. This in turn, will create an additional avenue for people to find your content.

2. Produce High Quality Content

The higher your content quality is, the more people will trust your website. You want visitors to come back, and they’ll only do that, if they like what you have to say. If you’re a company, then you’ll want to create a blog, focused around your business activities.

High quality content is also rewarded by the major search engines. If you’re constantly publishing high quality content, then it will boost the prestige of your site and its rankings, pulling in more traffic. Better quality content is always the most likely to be shared, on social platforms.

3. Offer a Free Product or Service

If you’re offering up something for free, that can be a great incentive for visitors. High quality content is a great way for you to drive traffic to your site, but giving away a product or service for free, is even more effective. When you offer something for free that is of genuine interest to your visitors, you can be sure they’ll continue to come back, again and again.

4. Forum Posting

You can find forums for virtually every industry, topic and niche out there. The internet is the place where people of like mind, gather together to talk. Finding a forum on your industry is very simple, a quick search on any major search engine is sure to bring up many different results.

You want to sign up to the forums that have the largest user base, in your interest, then start posting, in order to become an active member of the site. Most of these sites will give you a signature area, where you can link to your website. So the more threads you’re active in, the more traffic you can drive to your site.

5. Become a Contributor and Use Them

If you have an expert contribute on your site or your articles, that’s a great way of building trust with your audience, which in turn will bring in more traffic. It’s also a great way for you to build up your website brand. Experts are also the most ideal candidates to write specialised content on a particular topic, which will interest your current visitor base.

At the same time, you’ll want to offer your expertise to other websites. If you publish content on authority sites in your field, it will not only help establish you as an expert in the field, but it’ll also help drive traffic to your site.

6. Always Include Your URL in Signatures

It’s a very simple yet efficient practice. Consider including a URL to a post on your site, in every signature that you use. Whether that be on comments on your site, or your emails, on a forum (which we’ve already talked about). It’s curiosity that will bring these people to your website, as they seek to learn more about you.

7. Focus on Long-Tail Keywords

When you’re starting out, with a new website, it can be very difficult for your site to compete with the more popular keywords, as they tend to be dominated by the leaders in the field. It typically works out best, focusing on writing many articles on specific areas of a topic, rather than trying to rank for the most common terms in that area. Over time, you can expect traffic to come in, in small doses, which adds up, with the more content that you produce. In addition to that, posts targeting long-tail keywords, tend to convert a lot better. There are many keyword tools that you can use, to find high converting long tail keywords.
